Problem report / further detail
I booked a flight using my Amex points, but was unable to make the scheduled flight due to a medical emergency that prevented me from doing so. I tried cancelling the trip prior to departure, but due to poor customer service with the Russian airline Aeorflot, I was unable to do so successfully. I was told that I am not entitled a reimbursement from American Express or the airline due to their cancellation policy. I have a doctor's note indicating that my friend who I was to travel with was restricted from flying due to a medical emergency.
